Codes and Conventions
-The interviewee is filmed using either medium shot,medium close up or just a close up, use a variety of the anles to create variety. Station the camera to either the left or the right, never the center, and always maintain the rule of thirds.
-The person being interviewed looks at their interviewer not the camera.
-Mise-en-scene background relates to the topic not something unrelated.
-Light is always is in front of them not behind them. Eg Blue Screen
-Questions are always edited out.
-Cutaways are included to break up the interview, maintain attention, and to help avoid jump cuts when questions are edited out.
These are either archive material or something that relates to somethin said in the interview. The interview can anchor meaning to the image.
-Graphics can also be used for the same reason.
